Born in Thiruvananthapuram to Malayali Muslim parents, Nazriya was very close to her mother Begum Beena growing up. She has one older brother. For her primary schooling, Nazriya attended Our Own English High School in Al Ain, UAE. She later completed her education from Christ Nagar School and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya schools in Thiruvananthapuram. Though she was a bright student, her interest lay in extracurricular activities – especially classical dance and theatre arts. This exposure built a strong creative foundation.

Nazriya started her film career as a child artist in 2006 with the Malayalam film Palunku. Her first lead role was in the popular 2013 Malayalam romance film Neram, opposite Nivin Pauly.

Post Neram’s success, Nazriya went on to star in many hit Malayalam and Tamil films like Bangalore Days, Om Shanti Oshana, Trance, Koode, Oru Adaar Love and more. She has worked extensively with her husband Fahadh Faasil.

Some of Nazriya’s best performances have come in Ritu (2013), Bangalore Days (2014), Neram (2013) and Om Shanti Oshana (2014). She is beloved for her lively characters and bubbly onscreen charm.

After her marriage to Fahadh Faasil in 2014, Nazriya took a short hiatus from films. She made her comeback with Koode in 2018 followed by Trance in 2020. She was also recently seen in Ante Sundaraniki.

Off-screen, Nazriya is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer. She enjoys travelling, singing and supports various social causes. Known to be friendly and down-to-earth, Nazriya is one of the most popular contemporary actresses among Keralite audiences.

At 29 now, Nazriya has completed nearly 15 years in the film industry. She has risen from a child artist to a lead star who steals hearts with her memorable portrayals. With her cute smile, expressive eyes and effervescent energy, Nazriya has become a household name across Kerala.
